Miss Pattarabordee Pimki, from the Department of Gem and Jewelry Technology, Faculty of Industrial Technology, has been awarded the prestigious "Art Jewellery Commercial Value Awards" and "Art Jewellery Professional Group Excellence Awards" at the International Diamond and Jewelry Design Competition (IDDC) in Shanghai, China. Her winning piece, "Mantra′s Facet," is a stunning example of innovative design and craftsmanship. Inspired by the unique qualities of Chanthaburi pandanus mats, the jewelry piece seamlessly blends traditional Thai artistry with cutting-edge technology. By utilizing a laser cutter to precisely shape the pandanus mats and combining them with CAD/CAM-designed metal components, Miss Pattarabordee Pimki created a contemporary piece that pays homage to Thailand′s rich cultural heritage. The IDDC, a renowned international competition, recognizes outstanding designs in the jewelry industry. The 2023 edition, themed "Unbounded Creativity," attracted designers from around the world. Miss Pattarabordee Pimki′s victory is a testament to her exceptional talent and the high quality of education offered at RBRU.
