On Sunday, May 10, 2026, the Master of Arts Program in Thai Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University (RBRU), conducted a final thesis oral examination for Mr. Phuminarit Intharasorn. His research, titled “A Study on the Figures of Speech and Emotional Expressions in the Songs of Takatan Cholada,” presents a comprehensive analytical study of the literary arts and linguistic techniques used in Thai country music (Luk Thung). The study explores how metaphorical language and emotional diction effectively communicate the narratives and sentiments of contemporary Thai life to a wide audience. The examination was held at the Puang Yok Conference Room, presided over by a panel of distinguished scholars: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prathueang Thinrat (Chairperson) Asst. Prof. Dr. Udomluck Rapeesang (Principal Advisor) Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornchok Pitch Usomboon (Co-advisor) Dr. Narongrit Suksawat (Co-advisor) The atmosphere of the defense was academically rigorous yet warm and encouraging. The committee commended the candidate for his insightful analysis of "Luk Thung" lyrics as a form of modern Thai literature. This success underscores RBRU&#8217s commitment to advancing the study of Thai language and literary arts in a contemporary social context, preserving cultural identity through modern media.
