CHANTHABURI, Thailand — Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, or RBRU, launched a technical training program May 5, 2026, to integrate artificial intelligence into classroom instruction. The initiative, titled "Transforming Learning with AI Power," operates under the Information Technology Project of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Held at the RBRU Computer Laboratory, the workshop drew 45 educators and academic staff from Chanthaburi, Trat, and Rayong provinces to address regional digital literacy gaps. Experts from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Education, including Sukanda Jongsematrakul and Parichat Seesaeng, led the practical sessions. The curriculum focused on utilizing AI tools for personalized lesson planning, data analysis of student performance, and the creation of interactive digital media. This program marks a continued effort by the university to serve as a digital hub for the eastern region, transitioning from traditional teaching methods to technology-driven pedagogical frameworks. Assoc. Prof. Porphan Sittiwatchana, Acting President of RBRU, emphasized the necessity of technological adaptation in the public sector. "In an era where AI influences every dimension of life, education must adapt to utilize these tools for maximum benefit," Sittiwatchana said. He noted that the application of AI provides teachers with modern resources while fostering analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in students, which he described as the foundation for preparing youth for future global challenges. The project aims to create a sustainable professional network among educators to ensure long-term implementation of AI in local schools. By providing access to international-standard teaching tools, the university intends to reduce educational inequality in remote areas as part of the royal mandate. Participants are expected to implement these AI-driven strategies immediately within their respective institutions to improve overall student achievement and engagement in the digital age.
